The Michigan State University Administrative Professional Association (APA) is the largest labor union on the MSU campus, representing more than 3,000 administrative professional positions. Our members are non-supervisory staff working across more than 350 classifications on MSU’s main campus in East Lansing and at locations throughout Michigan.

Welcome to Michigan State University! Because the APA receives new hire information from MSU Human Resources on a monthly basis, there may be a delay before we’re notified of your hire. In some cases, it can take several weeks—or longer—before we’re able to reach out directly.
We’re glad you’re here and want to ensure you have access to the full range of member services, benefits, and opportunities available to you—from important updates and newsletters to professional development, training sessions, and messages from APA leadership.
Once we receive your information, we’ll contact you via email to invite you to an individual meeting or group orientation. To make sure you don’t miss these communications, please check your MSU NetID email or ensure it is being forwarded to your primary account.
